I want to make an announcement for kpeng. He is organizing a memorial drive for our lost friend Jeremy Smith. Jeremy has long been an active member of the BMW community, and he was taken from this world last year in a drunk driving accident. Here are the details from Ken.

As you guys know, last June, we lost a very dear friend to us and a fellow fanatic. Jeremy Smith (jeremysmith1967) was 20 when he passed away in an auto accident. He was a part of our BMW group here in Gainesville known as Leistung, and was a brother to all of us. 4ngiefest began 2 years ago, and Jeremy made the trip with us each time. We all had a blast as you guys have seen in the videos I’ve shot. This will be our first year making the trip without our good friend.

I’d like to invite all of you to join us in making a safe trip up to Atlanta this year. It would mean the world to both our group and Jeremy’s parents (who will most likely be present for the starting point). And I think Jeremy would be pleased to see a giant group of Bimmers cruising up there together.

• WHEN: Friday, April 3rd, 2009
• TIME: 3 PM
• WHERE: Oaks Mall Southside Parking Lot

I would like for all of us to meet at 3 PM SHARP at the Oaks Mall parking lot (south end). From there, we will meet, chat, making final preps, and I will say a few words. Hopefully Jeremy’s parents will be present and everyone can meet them. At around 4 PM, if everyone is ready, we will hit the road and make a safe 320 mile trip to Atlanta.

Just a quick note:
I want to thank everyone who has been helping us promote, the various forums/communities for allowing us to promote, the staff from our sponsors,  bloggers and e-magazines helping with links, and everyone else involved who is helping to make this happen. Without you 4ngiefest would not:

Also, We’ve updated the store decal items to be able to purchase matching pair decals. it doesn’t double the price, so check them out. All decals are available. In addition to that, we have updated the paypal module, so if you were having issues before they should be eliminated now. While we’d love to sit here all day and promote our buddies at Tischer as well as Ken at Bimmertools.. We still don’t have enough to get the ball rolling on the merchandise. Our rough costs to produce these items runs in the hundreds to thousands range. Last year we had the benefit of being able to use the Stone Mountain lot for free, this year.. not so much. The lot alone will cost 4ngiefest almost $1,000 for the 5 hours we will have it. This severely eats into our budget for donating to the LLS.

We sell the merchandise as a way to make profit and cover costs. 4ngie and I walk away with nothing more than a smile at the end of the event. We dontate EVERY dime we get to the LLS after we cover costs. While we would love to go out and empy our pockets to purchase the merchandise and sell it, our pockets just arent that deep. We depend on sponsorships and donations from our attendees to make this happen. We are running out of time, and 4ngiefest is just over a month away.

Hi everyone, just wanted to update one final time, the new site design is live. Hope you all like it.

Changes from last year and what to expect:

• Gallery Including 4ngiefest 2007 and 2008 Photos (with the ability to comment and rate!)
• RSVP: You can leave your mark, by signing up you can let us know you will be attending, in addition to having an icon show up on the map where you’re coming from! Ill update again when that feature is live, but it wont be long.
• New store, with new Merch… still coming soon, we need to finalize the designs.
