4ngiefest Needs sponsors

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

While we’d love to sit here all day and promote our buddies at Tischer as well as Ken at Bimmertools.. We still don’t have enough to get the ball rolling on the merchandise. Our rough costs to produce these items runs in the hundreds to thousands range. Last year we had the benefit of being able to use the Stone Mountain lot for free, this year.. not so much. The lot alone will cost 4ngiefest almost $1,000 for the 5 hours we will have it. This severely eats into our budget for donating to the LLS.

We sell the merchandise as a way to make profit and cover costs. 4ngie and I walk away with nothing more than a smile at the end of the event. We dontate EVERY dime we get to the LLS after we cover costs. While we would love to go out and empy our pockets to purchase the merchandise and sell it, our pockets just arent that deep. We depend on sponsorships and donations from our attendees to make this happen. We are running out of time, and 4ngiefest is just over a month away.

If you’re interested in sponsoring 4ngiefest, please contact 4ngie or I by emailing us at info@4ngiefest.com
We can provide a list of our proposed budget and estimated costs.

If you would like to help, but cant do a major sponsorship, please visit our donations section in the store. Even $1 will help

Thank you

4ngiefest helps the leukemia and lymphoma society

Friday, February 13th, 2009

A little about Leukemia and Lymphoma. 4ngiefest is put together every for one purpose. To drive donations to the LLS. We strongly support their work, and encourage everyone –whether they have been personally affected or know someone who has, or even just wants to help– to attend 4ngiefest, and help this event grow. Helping 4ngiefest is helping the LLS and helping stop the disease.

An Excerpt from the LLS Website:

Leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes are cancers that originate in the bone marrow or lymphatic tissues. They are considered to be related cancers because they involve the uncontrolled growth of cells with similar functions and origins. The diseases result from an acquired genetic injury to the DNA of a single cell, which becomes abnormal (malignant) and multiplies continuously. The accumulation of malignant cells interferes with the body’s production of healthy blood cells.

New Cases

An estimated 138,530 people in the United States will be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma in 2008. New cases of leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma account forĀ 9.6 percent of the 1,437,180* new cancer cases diagnosed in the United States this year.

Deaths

Leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma will cause the deaths of an estimated 52,910 people in the United States this year. These blood cancers will account for nearly 9.4 percent of the deaths from cancer in 2008 based on the 565,650 totalĀ cancer-related deaths.

Every ten minutes, another child or adult is expected to die from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. This statistic represents nearly 145 people each day, or six people every hour.

Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20.
